The lockers only have one hangar and barely hold a medium sized gym bag.  Even then you need to stuff the bag into the locker.  Benches sit beside only two rows of lockers.  B’s gym bag and lock splay across the bench.  J seeks a place to sit to pull on gym shoes.  A slice of bench beckons so J sits on the open corner.  B growls at J, “Don’t sit so close to my lock”.  J retorts, “I’m not sitting on your lock, benches are for butts, floors are for bags”.  Inflamed, B calls J an asshole and other names I can’t mention here.  B grabs the bag and lock, and huffs out of the locker room.

A cat fight in the women’s locker room? No, a dog fight in the men’s locker room.  Some gym rats maintain a personal space around their gym bag and lock.  Who knew?

  1. How strange. I don’t think I’ve ever had that problem in a locker room. Maybe the lock owner is just a little crazy.

this is so great, like dogs marking their territory –

Remember once seeing on a wildlife programme a wild animal urinating, which, per the narrator, was a way of marking out his territory. Perhaps these gym users need to develop some similar routines to avert dogfights 🙂
