I ran across this article a few weeks ago which intrigued me. 18% of us now shop while on the toilet. Why? Smart phones and tablets make it convenient to shop anywhere and we spend more time researching our purchases. It is efficient, a good way to use down time. You really can’t do much else, except read. Jack keeps a library in the bathroom and he loves to shop. It’s actually a good thing he doesn’t have a smart phone.
Turns out 43% shop while in bed and 14% in the bath. Personally, I love to luxuriate in the bath, and relax; if I could get a hot bath that is. The old pipes in our old house combined with a DIY guy who installed one of the hot water on demand systems he got off eBay conspire to deny me a hot bath. That means I’ll save a few bucks. Shopping while in a relaxed mood means the merchandise looks worth more than it is so you spend more money. 15% more according to the article in Today Money. Shopping while bathing can get more expensive if you drop the tablet or smart phone, not to mention dangerous.
I’m not likely to shop from the porcelain throne or from bed any time soon. How about you?
Not a thrown shopper but love the picture!
Took a bit of searching to find it on Flickr.
They say 43% of all stats are made up on the spot. But this 18% could well be true!
Maybe. Its certainly a fun one to speculate on!
my luck, i would get electrocuted while shopping the bath and trying to use tech
I’m not one to get close to the bath while using tech. I’d electrocute myself for sure!
