No, that’s not a typo. My co worker recently moved to Seattle and took her kids out trick or treating for the first time in her neighborhood. As they approached a house with a Porsche parked in the drive, she noticed the garage door open. In the garage, in full view, hung a deer carcass and her kids stared at it in fascination. The owner walked out and her daughter asked, “Why are one eye open & one eye closed?” Her son asked to see the gun used to shoot it. The owner’s gun rack hung in the back of his 4×4 but he said the deer gun remained locked in the house’s gun rack. It’s too expensive to be in the 4×4 rack. He explained the deer is curing and will be ready to roast in a week or so. But, he handed the kids a hoof. My co worker’s daughter requested the ear and he delivered that to her, too. He felt bad about not having any venison ready so he retrieved a salmon from his freezer, which he caught last week.
So the Halloween booty included not only candy but one deer hoof, one deer ear and a salmon. My co worker showed us the pictures to prove it.
